Meatza Meatza
Meatza, Meatza!!

This #MB2W is a challenge. It’s a discipline challenge, but it’s also a cooking challenge. I like carbs. There I said it. I’ve also been having random thoughts:
- I want Pizza.
*Did you know Michigan is home to Little Caesars (Pizza, Pizza!) and Domino’s? I know…you don’t have to say it. They aren’t my first choice, either.
*Did I mention that I want pizza? I love it. Yes, 3rd grade me, I’d marry it.
Discipline takes over. I will still eat Protein+Fats+Vegetables, but I will enjoy that shizz. It’s my right as a American…no as a human friggin being. Pizza is life!
The idea of a meatza, is that the crust is meat. As I’ve not yet braved the cauliflower crust trend, this was my only other choice.

It’s about that time. The end of the holiday season is the New Year. Let’s get prepped now. I mean you are done with shopping, right?
Please note that I don’t like resolutions that are outcome based, but I love challenges that are input/effort based. You control what you put in. Focus on that and the results will come, or at least that’s the theory I’m working with.
Check out the video and let me know if you’re down for the 2018 #NoExcuses Challenge.
The apps mentioned are Duolingo and Freeletics. Go get em!
BONUS: start before the New Year and get some 2018 momentum.
What Does 20,000 Steps Look Like
I had read a story recently about how “they” are increasing the daily steps recommendation from 10,000 to 15,000. That seemed like a lot, but I had some time on Sunday, so I decided to go for it. After, I got to my destination, it became clear that I was going to go over, so I amended my goal to an increased 20,000 steps. To make the experience more “me”, I decided to go make it as much of a photo walk as a fitness one.
40 of the images I took were included in this post on Facebook. I hope you enjoy them. Please let me know which, if any, you connect with.
Please let me know if YOU decide to do a photo/fitness walk, so I can see a bit of YOUR world!
I still think 15k steps is a bit much for most people, especially considering this recommendation was IN ADDITION to your exercise. I do think that every once and awhile a long walk like this can be great. I hope to do one of these epic treks about once a month. Â

Why I Juice
Once upon a time, I watched the documentary “Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead“, which got me intrigued and curious about this whole juicing thing. About that same time, a neighbor offered me her Breville juicer. Not being one to turn down the perfectly functioning throwaway items of others that also happens to coincide with a curiosity that I’m currently having, but not likely to invest in (PHEW)….I accepted…and the adventure begins!
IntimiDATER 2017 Fitness Goals
For the past few years I’ve used the same IntimiDATER Resolutions with just one update added in 2014. Go ahead and check that out. I stand by it as it has stood the test of time.
For 2017, I’ve added a fitness component. Of course, I added video to share these innovative concepts of fitness goal measurement and motivation. You’re welcome.

DalyDose of…#MyWhy
Most of us have the practice of making and declaring goals, down pat. Where we falter is with success. Many people have written and said many things to motivate us towards success. On social media, I’m guessing that you can find an endless supply of memes, with inspiring quotes typeset atop awe-inspiring images. The one thing that I’ve heard through the noise, that resonates with me, is finding your “why”. The author and motivational speaker, Eric Thomas, speaks of this as an ingredient for success. He’ll ask you “what’s your why?”. Businesses do this with a “mission statement”. They know why they exist and what keeps them on their path towards success. Individuals can use some of that focus.
If we’re looking at the sacrifices that one must make to be successful in any pursuit, it’s no wonder that so many people give up. If you have a strong collection of reasons “why” you are sacrificing, it might just push to you succeed. What’s my why? Read on, my friends.
Dose of 2015
It was a year, 2014. We had some victories together and we also left some challenges unfinished. As we rollover into 2015, it is a great time to reflect on where you’re at, envision where you want to be and how you plan to get there. There will be a lot of “enlightened” people calling resolutions by different names. I don’t care if you call them goals, intentions, plans, resolutions or wishes upon a star. There is value if you reflect, envision and plan (REP).
This post will feature my 2015 REPs for myself and apparently my IntimiDATER alter ego has decided to weigh in. This should be fun.
Let’s start with me. The real me. JD, El Jefe, The Great Jefferini or any of a host of nicknames you might know me as. I have some big stuff in store for 2015 and these are the highlights:
ABC Juice for Mission: Camera Ready
Oh how I wish getting fit could be exclusively handled in the gym. If only I could lift and Spin my way back to Warrior JD with just my blood, sweat and tears. Unfortunately, a good deal of fitness happens in the kitchen and while my muscles get their fair share of punishment, my taste buds take the most abuse.
In order to give a boost of micronutrients from time-to-time one can gulp down a juice. Today, I did just that and I am am going to share the experience with you.
Keep on reading to see what the ABC Juice and how you can make it for yourself….
