Dear Santa from IntimiDATER
Dear Santa,
My request this year is of a unique nature. I was going to ask you to have the elves in IT put together a subset of your master list, with the following:
San Diego Christmas in PureView
If this was a movie, an appropriate line of dialog might be: “We’re not in Michigan anymore”. With the weather and the snow, it was conceivable to get frostbite and snow at the same time.
All photos and videos are shot with a Nokia Lumia 1020 with music used under Creative Commons license for content found at www.jamendo.com
Let me show you the story in 1020 PureView….
A Nokia Lumia and JD Walk Into A Mall
This blog will be random-palooza. I’ve got pictures and JD observations to share. It will (hopefully) be funny and (hopefully) make you think and (probably) further cement my relationship status on “SINGLE”.
What it won’t be is complaining about how crowded and crazy my trip to the mall was. The Westfield Century Plaza was by all accounts, very pleasant this morning. I drove in and parked pretty close to the escalator and I was in the shopping zone before I knew it.
The music was holiday theme’d, but modern and lovely. There were no crazies, no yelling, no desperate shoppers ruining the experience for everyone. What there were, were painted deer sculptures. Seriously. Stay tuned for that because you KNOW I have pictures.
Lumia 1020 Photo Roundup
It’s been a while since I’ve done a entry that’s just about photography on the Lumia 1020. It’s not that I’ve stopped taking photos, but I’ve settled into a posting them in a places with a built in photographic community. You can regularly find my pictures on my Flickr account and my Phonetogaphs Blog and in the Fhotoroom community.
The picture above is one of my favorites from this device. I love the contrasts of color and texture.
OK, let’s dive into some more…
Sharing Amazing
Today I posted on my Facebook status that “Today is Friday! Do something amazing and earn the weekend!” My friend Steffanie turned it around and asked me what I was going to do. Hmmm…people don’t usually turn my orders around on me.
I had to do the building paperwork this morning, so the amazing had to wait for the afternoon. Of course, as the day goes on more and more things get in the way, but I will not let that get in my way. This is 2013, which I’ve declared the Year Of The Hash Tag. That means it’s a paradigmatic shift in my existence to a #NoExcuses, #NoRegrets life. Amazing HAD to happen!
Christmas Shopping Lessons
Things I’ve learned Christmas shopping…so far:
It’s been a bustling holiday season and many people starting playing Christmas music at Halloween soon to be followed up with crazy shopping the day after Thanksgiving. Neither of those “traditions” appeal to the joyous pressure of procrastination that I go through. This year, I made an effort to pay attention to the process and to share some lessons with you. The value of these lessons is up for debate, which I encourage.
Naughty List Claus
It’s Christmas time and I had a little afternoon wine to gussy up the courage to send Santa a video job application.
I’m pretty much perfect for the job as you’ll see. I’m not sure what I could have done to improve my chances. It IS all about knowing the right people though. So, if you know Santa or any little elves or even Rudolph, I would appreciate the referral.
I’m counting on getting this gig and I can be a little vindictive, which is something those who refuse to help me out, might want to remember. You’ll know what I’m talking about after you watch the video.
Actually, I’m going to quit talking (typing actually) and let you click on over to my video job pitch.
